Irrigation solenoid valve operation

Irrigation solenoid valves are electromechanical devices that regulate the passage of water in automated irrigation systems. Their operation is based on a solenoid that, when activated, opens or closes the fluid passage.

  • Circuit opening: when the irrigation system is activated, the electromagnetic coil generates a magnetic field that lifts the piston or inner diaphragm, allowing the flow of water.
  • Circuit closing: once the irrigation cycle is over, the solenoid deactivates and the valve closes, preventing leaks and ensuring efficient use of water.

The solenoid valves can be direct-acting, servo-assisted or diaphragm-type, depending on the water pressure and the specific needs of the system.
