Steam valve _

Steam valves are essential components for the regulation and control of steam flow in different industrial and domestic systems. Designed to ensure efficient and safe operation, steam valves are used in heating systems, industrial machinery, boilers and food applications. Choosing the right valve affects the safety, energy efficiency and overall performance of the system.

Steam valve operation

Steam valves are designed to manage and regulate the passage of steam in a closed circuit. Their operation is based on an opening and closing mechanism that allows the flow to be interrupted or modulated according to the needs of the application.

  • Circuit opening: When the system requires the passage of steam, the valve opens to allow flow to the destination.
  • Circuit closing: When steam is no longer needed, the valve closes to prevent leakage and keep the system at optimal pressure.
  • Pressure regulation: In some applications, the steam valve adjusts the pressure within the system to prevent overheating or efficiency drops.

The steam valves can be operated manually or automatically through pneumatic, electric or hydraulic actuators, depending on the environment of use and the level of automation required.

There are different types of steam valves, each suitable for specific industrial and domestic applications:

Globe valves: these valves regulate the flow of steam with a disc that moves up or down. They offer excellent flow control and are used in applications that require precise steam adjustments.

Gate valves: designed for ON/OFF operations, they allow a total opening or a complete closing of the flow. They are ideal for applications where free passage without pressure restrictions is required.

Steam safety valves: used to prevent overpressures in the system, these valves open automatically when the pressure exceeds a certain limit, avoiding damage to the systems and ensuring operational safety.

Butterfly valves: used in industrial plants, they are light and compact, with a rotating disc that regulates the flow of steam. They are suitable for situations where quick control of opening and closing is required.

Steam solenoid valves: they are activated by an electrical signal and allow you to automatically control the flow of steam in advanced thermal management systems. They are often used in industrial machinery and automation processes.
